Back A+ School: First Day of School Outfit Ideas!

Hello everyone! Today I'm continuing my back to school series. With school just around the corner, I thought I would show guys my first day of school outfit ideas. Enjoy!
Casual-
My first outfit is casual. I have on a muscle tank, a baggy sweater, skinny jeans, and Keds. This is perfect for those of you don't like to dress up, but still want to look nice on the first day.

I love these Keds. They have an adorable pink and red floral pattern with periwinkle trim.
Muscle Tank- Necessary Clothing
Sweater- H&M
Jeans- Hollister
Keds- Marshalls

 Semi-Casual-
My second outfit is semi-casual. I'm wearing a denim vest, a white tee, a circle skirt, and white converse. This outfit is not too casual, and not too fancy, so it's for those of you that have a mild style.

I love the star detailing on this denim vest.

I also love this skirt because it has sunflowers on it! A great trend for fall!

Denim Vest- Pacsun
White Tee- Target
Skirt- Brandy Melville
Converse- Journeys

Dressy-
My third outfit is for those of you (like me!) who love being girly and dressing up! I'm wearing a lacy dress and ballet flats.

The detailing on this dress is super pretty.

The navy and red stripes add a pop of color and a nautical feel.

You can also add a sweater on top if your school dress code doesn't allow the thin dress straps.
Dress- Lotus (A small shop in Newport, RI)
Sweater- Target
Ballet Flats- TJ Maxx

So those were my first day of school outfit ideas! Let me know in the comments below which outfit was your favorite: #1, #2, or #3. I hope all of you enjoyed this post, and maybe even got some inspiration on what to wear on the first day. Have a great day! Bye! xx

Times Square MAC Store + My Experience!

Hello everyone! While in New York City, I knew I wanted to visit the MAC store in Times Square. Prior to that, I had only visited MAC counters. The MAC store in Times Square is located right next to the Disney store and the giant Forever 21, so it's easy to find. There, I had my makeup done by Justine, a MAC makeup artist. She was incredibly sweet and took the time to teach me how to create a neutral eye makeup look.

My eye makeup done by Justine
This is what I bought at the MAC store. It is a 4-color eye shadow palette. I got 3 of the colors Justine used on my eyes (Mythology, Shroom, Sable) and one I heard from recommendation (All That Glitters).

All That Glitters is a shimmery, light brown base color. Mythology is a shimmery, rose gold base color. Shroom is a white highlight and Sable is a matte, dark brown, crease color. As you can see, they're all creamy and have great pigmentation.

Swatches

This is Justine and I. As I said before, Justine was so sweet and she did an incredible job doing my makeup. She showed me how to create a shimmery, neutral makeup look that I have now been recreating almost every day since then.

I had an incredible first experience at a MAC store thanks to Justine. If you ever stop by the Times Square MAC store, be sure to ask if Justine is there. She'll do an amazing job helping you and finding exactly what you want. Justine actually has a website and you can see it at: www.justinedivanna.com

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what your MAC experiences you've had or what products you'd recommend from MAC in the comments below. Have a great day everyone. Bye! xx

Review: Products from Ulta!

Hi everyone! A couple weeks ago I did a Mini Haul of the products I bought from Ulta. I promised I would review each of the products and tell you what I thought of them, so as promised, I'm reviewing them today! Lets get started!

This has definitely exceeded my expectations. The "Wet" Brush works AMAZINGLY on wet hair (as marketed) as well as on dry hair. This has recently been my go-to brush and I would recommend it to anyone.
This again has been another superstar product lately. This is the Maybelline Color Tattoo in "Bad to the Bronze." I have been loving this product because it works as a great eyeshadow base or eyeshadow on its own. It's beautifully pigmented and is a smooth, creamy consistency.

This product I was not so impressed with. As you can see in the swatch, it hardly shows up! I have very fair skin and its too light for me! The Rimmel Natural Bronzer is a product I would not recommend, as it merely does nothing for you. To say the least, I was not impressed.

This was a so-so product for me. It smells amazing, but as far as actually moisturizing your lips, I'm not so sure it does a very good job. I don't hate this product, but I'm not sure how many people I would recommend the Nivea Lip Butters to...

That's it for this post! Those were my honest reviews of the products. Remember, these were my personal opinions and what I experienced with them, but they could work differently for you. Let me know what you think of the products in the comments below and I'll talk to you guys in my next post. Bye! xx

The Beauty Blogger Tag!

Since being on vacation, I've been having a lot of blogging withdrawals, so I decided I would do The Beauty Blogger Tag. I stumbled upon this tag the other day, and I really enjoyed the questions, so here are my answers!

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?

I started blogging because I wanted to share my love of fashion with the world. I was very young at the time and many people underestimated how knowledgable and passionate I was about fashion, so I created this blog to show them what I was capable of. I have been blogging for 3 years!...And I've loved every second of it.

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?

A family friend created a fashion blog called "Ginger and the Geek" and I loved reading her posts. (Now she's under the name of GingerAdorned) I also loved Elle & Blair's joint blog: ElleandBlair.com

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product that you bought? Was it worth the hype?

The first hyped-up product I bought was the Maybelline "Falsies" Mascara. Ironically, it was NOT worth the hype, as I HATED this mascara, but since then I've tried many hyped-up products that I do love.

What are your 5 favorite things about being a beauty blogger?

1. I have met so many other girls who make beauty blogs and they are so nice! By making blogger friends, they give you advice on your blog and you can do the same with theirs. It's so helpful!

2. I feel so lucky because writing a beauty/fashion blog combines 3 of my favorite things: Beauty, Fashion, and Writing! I've always had a love for all three.

3. I love it when a person will read one of my posts and say: "Thanks! That really helped me!" That's what I try to do. Even though I am very young, I want to help other girls all over the world and give them inspiration.

4. By writing and reading other beauty/fashion blogs, I get to hear about so many products. I get to hear real opinions and recommendations, and it really helps you spend your money on products actually worth buying.

5. Every time I write a new blogpost, I feel so happy. The joy from writing a new post and sharing it with the world is an indescribable feeling. You feel so accompished and feel like you made a difference.

What have you learned from being a beauty blogger?

I've learned that you can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it. I am a small town girl who had dreams of starting a fashion blog and inspiring and helping girls all over the world. And I really feel like I've done that. Go after your dreams.

Have you changed anything since being a beauty blogger?

Yes. Since becoming a beauty blogger, I feel like I've become more of a leader. Since I could help people online, I felt like I could help people in real life. So I have been. My friends are surprised by how much I know about beauty and fashion and my blog has really helped me to pursue that.

What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?

Don't worry about how big or little your blog is. No matter the size, you will still help girls and they will still be inspired. The size of your blog doesn't matter, the amount of passion you put into your blog is what does.

What are your top 5 makeup brands?

1. Maybelline
2. NYX
3. Rimmel
4. Essie (Nailpolish)
5. Wet n' Wild

Recommend your top 5 beauty products:

1. Maybelline Color Tattoos (They're fairly inexpensive and have AMAZING pigmentation)

2. Elf waterproof liquid liner (It costs $1 and works just as well as any other drugstore liquid liner)

3. Ulta Voluputous Volume Mascara (Take my word, this mascara is incredible. I've never heard anyone else talk about it, but it is an amazing lengthening mascara and my favorite one of all time)

4. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (This is one of these least exensive powders you will find and it is also one of the best. It keeps away shine from your face and prevents your foundation from running. This powder also lasts for an insane amount of time)

5. Essie Nailpolishes (Not one in particular, but they all are beautiful, unique colors and they last on your nails longer than any polish)

That was The Beauty Blogger Tag! I encourage any of you to this if you want to! I'm still on vacation, so you probably won't see another blogpost from me for a  little while, but you can hear updates from me on my Twitter! (CCFashionista1) Thank you for sticking by my blog for all these years. Have a great day! Bye! xx

Mini Ulta Haul!

Yesterday was one of those not-so-good days for me, so I decided to cheer myself up by going to Ulta. Of COURSE, I bought some stuff (how could I resist?) so that's what I'm going to show you. I have been wanting to try all of these items for so long now, so I am so excited to test them out. Here they are!
The first thing I got was The "Wet" Brush. I've heard a lot of great reviews about this product, and I was in great need for something like this. The "Wet" Brush is specialized for wet hair, it works like a comb so that it doesn't pull your hair out when it's wet and fragile. I've only tried it on dry hair so far, but I will let you know how I like it when I test it on both.

This product I have been lusting after for what seems like months now. It is the Maybelline Color Tattoo in "Bad to the Bronze." I've heard incredible reviews about this product as well, and the employee at Ulta told me it was amazing as I was checking out. I can't wait to try this product out more and if I like it, maybe I'll even buy some more colors!

I haven't heard much about this product, but lately I've been in need of a good bronzer (I'm incredibly pale). I love Rimmel Products, so I thought I'd give this a try. It is the Rimmel London Waterproof Natural Bronzer. (I'm not sure why a bronzer needs to be waterproof, but hey, that works) I've swatched this product already, and to be honest, it doesn't seem to have the greatest color payoff. I will continue to try this and let you know how I like it (along with the other products).

My lips have been insanely dry lately, so I thought I'd finally buy this. It is the Nivea Raspberry Rose Kiss Lip Butter. I'm a big Nivea fan and I already love this, as I do with many of their products. Not to mention, it smells amazing, like a sweet raspberry.

Here is an overview of all the products I got. I will be taking all of these on vacation with me (I leave tomorrow!) and when I get back, I will write a post reviewing all these products. Let me know in the comments below if you have tried any of these products and what you think of them. Unfortunately when I'm on vacation, I will not be able to write any blog posts, but if you want to see what I'm up to, follow my Twitter at: CCFashionista1. Have a fantastic day everyone! xx

My Road Trip Essentials: Makeup, Outfit & More!

Hi again!
Soon I will be leaving on a big road trip, so I figured I would show you my road trip essentials! Enjoy! And let me know what YOUR road trip essentials are in the comments below. Let's begin!
Makeup-
I like to keep my makeup light & fresh when I'm on the road so I use a BB Cream instead of a heavy foundation. To cover up blemishes, I'm using my favorite concealer at the moment. To keep products in place and to reduce shine, I like to use a translucent pressed powder. For a pop of color, I use a light pink lip balm and to finish it off, I use a liquid eyeliner to outline my eyes.
Products Used:
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
Revlon Lip Butter in "Strawberry Shortcake"
Elf Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

Outfit-
Obviously when you're in a car for most of the day, you don't want to be uncomfortable, so that's why I use loose clothing. I recommend muscle tanks because they're light and not constricting. A simple pair of denim shorts will be a good addition and to finish it off, flip flops, so you can slip your shoes on and off at stops.
Shirt- Brandy Melville
Shorts- Aeropostale (I have a particularly tiny waist, so I find their shorts fit me best)
Flip Flops- Target

Magazines-
This is entirely optional, but I greatly enjoy reading magazines on long car rides. Some of my favorites? Seventeen and Glamour

DVD's-
My favorite thing to do to pass time is watching movies. I bring along a DVD player, a couple of movies and I'm set to go for the long hours ahead. Some of my favorite include Legally Blonde, The Parent Trap and Full House. (Which is not a movie, but I grew up watching Full House and I forever & always will be obsessed with watching it.)

Reading & Writing-
I don't know about you guys, but I am a HUGE writer and major bookworm. I just started reading The Book Thief and it is AMAZING, so I totally recommend that. I also like to bring along some pencils and a pad of paper just to write with when I get bored.

So those were my Road Trip Essentials! I hope everyone enjoyed this post! Also, excuse my photography. Obviously I am not a professional photographer and I couldn't find my Canon, so I used my iPhone to take these pictures. But it will have to do, right? ;) Have a great day everyone! Bye! xx
