My Picks: Oscars 2013 Best & Worst Dressed

Hello lovelies! Like many of you, I enjoyed watching the Academy Awards on TV last night. I've always loved that awards show; Dolby Theatre, the glamorous feel, the celebreties and my favorite part... the fashions! This year I liked a lot of the dresses people wore, they were very simple and glamorous. I will show you my favorite picks! However, there were also some major misses this year and I will show my least favorites as well. So let's get started!
Best dressed first...
(P.S. So very sorry these pictures turned out blurry!)

1-Anne Hathaway: This was my very favorite gown of the night! Anne Hathway looked stunning in a blush pink Prada gown. I love how simple and classy this look is; she looks so put together! I also have to say I am a fan of her new haircut and it was styled beautifully for the awards show.

2-Amy Adams: This may not have been everyone's cup of tea, but I loved Amy Adam's gorgeous gown! I loved how it was very sparkly and also edgy at the same time. I thought the furry skirt was very unexpected and very chic. This gown wins second place in my book!

3-Amanda Seyfried: She looked gorgeous in a flowing, sparkly gown. I loved the gold accents and the intricate detail on the bodice. Her hair and makeup completed this dazzling look and she took my third place title, looking flawless.

Now we're onto Worst Dressed...
1-Halle Berry: This look wins my third worst dressed title. Although I normally like Halle Berry's style, I was not a fan of this look. The print of the dress wasn't too bad, but it was really cut that I despised. The top is just much too boxy and makes her small figure look larger than it is.

2-Fan Bingbing: I just do not like this dress. At all. The color is too bright for a ball gown and it kind of makes your eyes hurt if you look at it too long. The cut is just... odd. And I'm not sure if it's just me, but the dress kind of looks like tissue paper. This look takes home my second worst dressed title.
And my least favorite look of the night...
Helena Bonham Carter: This was hands down my least favorite look of the night. The dress looks sort of ragged and the hair looks like it's been in the wind all day long. The whole look to me is just... a mess. I'm aware this isn't the most flattering photo I could've picked of her, but it was one that I found so that's the one I used! This look wins the title of "#1 Worst Dressed of Oscars 2013."

I hope all of you enjoyed this post and remember that these are just my personal opinions and you don't have to agree with them! This is just my view and the way I see things and I by no means mean to insult any of you or your opinions. I do respect all the ladies as fine actresses and celebrities, so I'm not saying I dislike them as a person, just their particular outfit! I hope you all enjoyed watching the Oscars as much as I did and I'll see you in my next post! Bye!

Spring Trend Alert: Florals!

Hi everybody! Spring is only a couple months away, so I figured we'd start planning for it now! I'm bringing along a new series of post where I will talk about upcoming trends for Spring 2013 and trends from last spring that are here to stay. Let's get started for the first: Spring Trend Alert!
Florals:
Here I have created 3 outfits that all feature the same spring trend: florals! Florals are very girly and they look great dressed with solid colors.
Outfit #1 consists of a floral peplum top paired with black leggings. To dress it up, I added a pair of blush pink heels and a studded clutch. This look would look great for a professional meeting or going out to a fancy dinner with your friends.
(H&M Blouse, Les Chiffoniers Velvet Stripe Leather Leggings, Brian Atwood Hamper 150 Marilyn Patent Leather Pumps, Saint Laurent Bag)

Outfit #2 consists of a floral strapless dress and I dressed it down with an oversized cardigan, gold studs, and bow flats. This look would be great for a date in the park or for a spring wedding.
(Jack Wills Merrifield Dress, River Island White eyelash oversized cardigan, Jennifer Zeuner Studs, LOFT Emma Ballet Flats)

Outfit #3 consists of floral shorts that I dressed it down with a denim button-up shirt, aviator sunglasses and white sneakers. This outfit is casual and would look great for an everyday look or a spring lunch date.
(Cielo Jeans Denim Shirt, LC Lauren Conrad Floral Denim Shorts, MANGO Aviator Style Sunglasses, Unisex Tennis Shoe from American Apparel)

That was my first post of Spring Trend Alerts and I hope you all liked it! Stay tuned for more posts like this and I'll talk to you in my next post! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! Bye!

Bring On The V♡: Girl's Night In Essentials!

Hi everyone! If you're planning on spending Valentine's Day hanging out with your friends or even by yourself (which is just fine, too!) this my list of essentials to having a great Girl's Night In! So let's get started!
First, I reccomend a facial mask because of course, it cleanses your skin, but also because it's a fun thing to do with your friends and it gives you a spa-like feel! I reccomend this one from Freeman because it works well and also isn't pricy.
(Freeman Facial Clay Mask Avacado & Oatmeal, $4.49, Walgreens Stores and www.walgreens.com)

I also reccomend using a Hair mask because it hydrates your hair and leaves it feeling smooth and soft. Really any hair mask will be just fine, but I like this one from Hollywood Beauty because it smells nice and it has lots of great ingrediants for your hair.
(Hollywood Beauty Hydrating Hair Mask, Price varies by store, Walgreens Stores)

Now once you have all your great cleansing products on, it's time to entertain yourselves! I reccomend watching Romantic Comedies or Comedies on Valentine's Day to keep things light and fun. I really like the movie Bride Wars because it's very funny and a great movie about bestfriends. I also like the movie Valentine's Day, because of course, the title says it all, but also because it's cute and funny. Any movie will work for you (and possibly your friends) to sit down together and watch this Valentine's Day.
And now, everyone's favorite part (or at least my favorite part) the TREATS! Chocolate covered strawberries are a signature Valentine's treat and they taste delicious. They're also simple to make. (Tutorial HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5vwz1OFPKM) You can also order chocolate covered strawberries from places such as Shari's Berries (which you can find HERE: www.berries.com) They make great great treats and they can deliver to you, or you can send some to a friend as a gift.

I hope you enjoyed my 3rd segment of Bring On The V and I hope this gave you some ideas for a great Girl's Night In. Have a great day! Bye!

Bring On The V♡: 4 Perfect Hairstyles for Valentines Day!

Hi everyone! This is the second post in my Valentines Day series: Bring On The V. Today I'm going to show you 4 hairstyles (along with tutorials!) that would look great for any occasion on the big day. Let's get started!
Waterfall Braid

This was a big trend this summer and it's coming back again! The braid looks very delicate and is actually easier than it looks! For a bonus look, curl your hair and then comb through it with your fingers. Then: Voila! A perfect hairstyle for a dinner or dance on Valentines Day! For a tutorial, click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB73HdnevSM

Sock Bun

This is a very polished look that is a great take on the normal bun. You can use a sock to complete this look, but stores such as Urban Outfitters and H&M also carry hair "donuts" that are an even better option. But if you don't want to or can't get one, a sock will work just fine! This is a very simple look that looks very sleek and polished. For a bonus look, leave out a small section of hair, braid it and then wrap around the bottom of your bun for a slightly boho look. This would look great at a formal dinner or a night out with friends. For an in-depth tutorial, click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIBMx3N-BJc

5 Strand Braid

This is a modern take on a simple braid. This braid looks very complicated and intricate, but is actually very simple. For a bonus look, carefully pull out some front strands of hair for a more laid back look. This hairstyle would be great for a small get-together or a hangout with friends. For a tutorial, click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZEsf2uXzZU

Bow

This is the simplest look by far, so if you're low on time or just don't feel like spending much time on your hair, this is a great option for you! Simply clip a Hair bow in your hair and you're done! You can wear it in the back of your hair (shown above) or to clip in a side braid or at the bottom of a braid. They're very versatile and these clips can be found at www.americanapparel.com . For a bonus look, curl your hair with a 1" curling iron and lightly brush through with a paddle brush for gorgeous, care-free look.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that it's given you some ideas for hairstyles to rock this Valentines Day! Have a happy Friday! Bye!

Bring On The V♡: 3 cute outfits for Valentine's Day!

Hi everyone! Today is the start of my new Valentine's Day series called "Bring On The V!" It will contain posts to help you look- and feel your best this Valentines Day! This post will show you 3 outfits I've put together that have 3 different feels and will look gorgeous this Valentine's Day!
Casual-
If your style is casual, this is a great look for Valentine's Day. Heart sweaters are all the rage right now and are effortless and girly. Pair them with a pair of printed jeans and it gives it an unexpected feel. Tied together with Chuck Taylor converse and rosegold jewelry, it has a dressed down, but not grungy look.
(Markus Lupfer Grey Big Heart Jumper, Marc by Marc Jacobs Slim Polkadot Jeans, Converse Chuck Taylor High Tops, Marc by Marc Jacobs Watch, Ring: unknown)

Glam-
If your style is glam, this is a perfect, feminine outfit for Valentine's Day. Start with a lacy, universally flattering dress paired with a leather jacket for an edgy touch. If it's cold outside, add a pair of black leggings or tights with simple black flats. To make your outfit really stand out, add a glitter clutch and girly, gold heart earrings.
(Little Mistress Fit and Flare applicate detail dress, Reiss by Yony Cropped Leather Jacket, Leggings: unknown, Marc by Marc Jacobs gold toned studs, Accessorize Glitter Bow Clutch, Tory Burch Patent Leather Ballet Flats)

Preppy-
If your style is preppy, this is a playful, adorable outfit for Valentine's Day. Start with a Peter Pan collared shirt, a very on trend item, and add a heart skirt for an unexpected flare. Pair with simple oxfords and tie it off with sparkly bird earrings and a petite "love" bracelet. Bonus: This is definitely an outfit Taylor Swift would rock!
(A Little Birdie Told Me Tammy Skirt, Tara Starlet Peter Pan Blouse, Betsey Johnson Bird Stud Earrings, Love Bracelet, Pedro Garcia Yale Lace Up Oxfords)

I hope you liked the first post in my "Bring On The V" series! Look forward to more Valentines themed posts coming soon and have a great week everyone! Bye!

My Weekly Loves! Jan 28-Feb 2 ♡

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday! This week I got a couple new products that I'm excited to share with you and I'm sorry I didn't post a regular post this week, but I'll make up for it. Let's take a look at this week's favorite products!

This week I tried a new mascara! (Which I love doing) I tried the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. This isn't the best mascara I've ever tried, but it's still very good. It doesn't clump or smudge and it extends your lashes very well. It also has a really unique brush that's great for coating every lash.
(Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, $4.44, Target stores& www.target.com)

I also tried the Ulta Nail Lacquer in Sweetheart Pink. It is a gorgeous, watermelon pink color. I was shocked to see that I had no pink nail polish in my collection, so I knew I had to get one because pink is one of my favorite colors. I am a big fan of Ulta Nailpolish because they last for about 5 days before the chip at all and this will be a great color to wear on your nails for Valentine's Day!
(Ulta Formula Nail Lacquer Sweetheart Pink, Ulta stores & www.ulta.com)

This week I started watching the Carrie Diaries and now I am obsessed with it. It's a prequel to Sex & the City and it follows the teen years of Carrie Bradshaw. (And her style is amazing!) Anna Sophia Robb does a fantastic job of playing young Carrie and I couldn't think of anyone better for the job. This show is on at 8:00 Eastern time on the CW channel.

That's it for this week's Weekly Loves! I hope you enjoyed this and I'm thinking about starting a Valentines Day series since it's right around the corner. So stay tuned for that! Have a great weekend! Bye!
