Cami's Christmas Countdown #3: A Beginner's Guide to Makeup.

Hi everyone!
So on today's post of Cami's Christmas Countdown, I set up a list of tips and tricks for makeup beginners. Although this post isn't really Christmas related, I figured this post was a necessity to make so that some of you don't make the mistakes I did when I first started out. (Helloooo blue eyeshadow)

Tip #1: Stick to Neutrals
When first starting out with makeup, you can feel overwhelmed with all the color options. As fun as the blue or purple eyeshadow may seem, I recommend you don't wear them. Colored eyeshadow a are really hard to work with, especially for a beginner.

Tip #2: DON'T fill in your eyebrows
I really wish someone would've warned me about this one. I'm guessing that if you're a makeup beginner, then you're probably fairly young so your eyebrows probably don't need much filling in. Filling in your eyebrows can be tricky because they can get too dark very quickly. (I have my 8th grade yearbook photos to prove it) So I'd recommend just not filling them in at all.

Tip #3: Don't use foundation when you don't need it
Again with what I said with the last tip: if you're young you probably don't need foundation. Do not apply it if you don't need it because it will look unnatural and cakey. If you feel as though you do need foundation, have your parents help you get the right color for you so that you don't end up with orange streaks on your face...just like I did.

How To Apply Foundation: Brush, Sponge, or Fingers

Tip #4: Listen to other's recommendations
This is a tip I still follow even though I'm not necessarily a makeup beginner anymore. When you're first starting out (or if you're a pro) listen to what others have to say about products so that they can lead you in the right direction. By following this tip, you can discover amazing products and keep yourself from wasting your money on disappointing ones. Whether it be recommendations from YouTube videos or a friend, listen to what they have to say because it can really help you out.

That's all for my makeup beginner's tips! I hope you all learned something from this (and learned from my mistakes) Thanks for reading! And happy holidays!

Cami's Christmas Countdown #2: Holiday Room Tour!

Hi everyone!
So it's officially December!
And, as it's the first of the month, it's also my birthday! Yay!
So continuing on with my Christmas series, I decided I would show you all how I decorated my room for the holidays. It was so much fun to do and it really put me in the Christmas spirit. Enjoy!

First off, I added a wintry garland to my headboard and I decked it out with a giant red bow.

I then added a festive and fun holiday pillow to my white bedspread.

I brought in a mini Christmas tree and decorated it with bulbs, snowflakes and pine cones.

Of course, I had to have a holiday candle. This one is a soy candle that smells like Christmas cookies. (YUM!)

Obviously, my curtains aren't really Christmas colors, so to make them more festive, I made a garland of paper snowflakes.

Lastly, I hung a Christmas wreath above my closet door.

And ta da! That's how I decorated my room for the holidays! I love how it looks and it looks even more amazing when you turn your lights off and the only things glowing are the little bulbs. I would LOVE to see how you decorated your rooms for the holidays so leave me a picture in the comments below or tag me in a photo on Twitter! I hope you have a great week! Let the countdown to Christmas begin! 25 days! Bye!

Cami's Christmas Countdown #1: Target Haul!

Hello everyone!
I am very excited to announce that this is the first post in my holiday series!
I am already so excited for Christmas, so that's why I'm starting it before December. The first post in my holiday series is a Target haul because I went to Target today and they had all their Christmas stuff out and...it sucked me in. I just can't help it. I love Christmas. So here's what I picked up today!

The first thing I picked up was this set of holiday pajamas. They're flannel and so warm! I can't wait to lounge around the house wearing these and watching Christmas movies. And the best part is they were on sale for $14.99!

Next I stumbled upon all their Christmas socks and I fell in love. The first ones I got was this pack of three and they're all so cute and festive. All three were only $4.

Of course, I also had to get a pair of fuzzy socks so I got this striped pair. They're such fun colors and just by looking at them, I already feel more in the holiday spirit. This pair was $4.

When I saw this, I died. I died. It's a five-pack of mini Essie holiday nail polishes and all of the colors are gorgeous. This pack features Essie's Ballet Slippers, Turquoise & Caicos, Chinchilly, Wicked, and Forever Yummy. I'm so excited to break these colors out and wear them. This entire pack was $15, which i found to be a good price for Essie nail polish.

So that's it for my Target haul! I hope you enjoyed seeing what I picked up! Look forward to more of my holiday posts because there will be many more coming in December! Also, my birthday is really close and I'm super excited because I'm going to Chicago! (By the way, my birthday's December 1st) You can follow my Twitter to see what I'm up to at https://twitter.com/CCFashionista1 I'll see you all in my next post! Bye! And Happy Holidays!

The Sweater Weather Tag!

Hi Everyone!
So even though I have been getting ready for Christmas lately, I decided I would do "The Sweater Weather Tag" since it is technically still fall. (But to me, it's Christmas season) My Christmas posts will be starting VERY soon, but as one last ode to fall, here are some things I love about fall.

1. Favorite candle scent?
As much as I would love to be creative, I have to go with the typical favorite candle which is Leaves from Bath & Body Works. In case you've never smelt it, it does not smell anything like actual leaves. It smells like cinnamon, apples, and berries which I absolutely love and this candle pretty much is the definition of fall in my eyes.

2. Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate?
This one is an easy answer for me, considering I don't drink either coffee or tea, so obviously I choose hot chocolate! I LOVE hot chocolate, especially when you mix caramel with it. Tonight I'm going to try making Nutella hot chocolate, so we'll see how that goes.

3. What's the best fall memory you have?
This took a little bit of thinking, but I've always loved going to pumpkin patches with my family. My cousin chooses to go there for her birthday every year, so it's become a tradition. We get pumpkins, ride the hayride and eat donuts. I love it.

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer, dark lips or winged liner?
Now I have tried pulling off dark lips, but it doesn't look very good because I have super pale skin. So I'm going to have to go with winged liner, even though I don't consider it to be exclusively a fall trend.

5. Best fragrance for fall?
I love wearing body sprays in the summer because they're light weight, but in the fall I go for heavier scents, so I love Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift. Still, it's not even that dark of a scent, but I do enjoy wearing it most in the fall.

6. Favorite Thanksgiving food?
To be honest, I'm not all that into Thanksgiving food, so I have to say I like the mashed potatoes best. Don't judge.

7. What is autumn weather like where you live?
Where I live, the weather is full out autumn. The leaves change all sorts of colors and it gets noticeably more cold. It's one of my favorite times of the year. (After Christmas, of course)

8. Most worn sweater?
This one doesn't really count as my most worn sweater because I haven't had it for too long. But since it is my new favorite sweater, I'll count it anyway. It's from target and it has a "salt and pepper" kind of coloring to it and I love it because it goes with pretty much everything.

9. Must have nail polish this fall?
Lately I have been loving this nail polish! It's called "Mommy Kissing Santa" and it's from China Glaze. Even though it has a Christmas name, it reminds me of fall because in person it's a very dark maroon color.

10. Football games or jumping in leaf piles?
This is a very strange question to me because those aren't easily comparable things, but I have to go with football games because I'm a cheerleader and I love the atmosphere of a Friday night game.

That's all for The Sweater Weather Tag! I decided to cut the questions off at 10 because the rest weren't very appealing to me and I didn't have much to answer for them. I hope you enjoyed this post and it's my last fall post of the year! I have been getting ready for Christmas lately, so Christmas themed blogs will be coming soon! I hope you have a great weekend! Bye!

October Favorites!

October is over.
I cannot believe it.
This entire year has gone by so fast. And now it's November! I cannot even comprehend that. Anyways, since October is over, it's time for my October Favorites!

Neutrogena Clear Pore Facial Cleanser
My first October favorite is this cleanser from Neutrogena. I really like this because it's pretty light and not too harsh. It also works well with my (very) dry skin. It's kept my skin pretty healthy this month, so I really like it!

Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer
Another favorite face product. I've been really liking this moisturizer from Clean & Clear because as I said, I have very dry skin so this has been helping a lot. Before using this, my skin was always so dry that it was peeling and that is just not cute, so this has been clearing that problem up!

Maybelline Fit-Me Stick Foundation
I have been absolutely loving this product. I bought it at Ulta randomly and it has turned out to be my new favorite foundation! It's fairly light, but it also has good coverage without being cakey.

Snapchat
So this is a bit random of a favorite, but I have been LOVING Snapchat. This summer, two of my friends convinced me to get one and at first I didn't really like it, but now I LOVE it and I send about 30 Snapchats a day. (It's becoming an addiction)

"How to Save a Life" -The Fray
First favorite song of the month of the month goes to "How to Save a Life." I'm aware this song is not new. At all. But I noticed I've been listening to this song a lot and I really enjoy it.

"I Won't Give Up" -Jason Mraz
Other favorite song of the month is "I Won't Give Up." I am also aware that this is not a new song, but it makes me really happy to listen to it so I thought it should be included in my favorites.

So those were all my October Favorites! Let me know what your favorites were in the comments below! I hope you have a great week! And guess what? We're getting closer to Christmas! I'm already so excited! See you soon! Bye! xx

My Halloween Costume!

Hi everyone!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
So today I'm going to show you my Halloween Costume! It was a completely last minute costume choice, but it came together pretty well. This is also a great costume because you should have most of the items in your closet already. So let's begin!

In case you couldn't tell, I'm Katniss from The Hunger Games! I absolutely loved reading this book series and the Catching Fire movie comes out in less than a month! I am so excited! Anyways, as I said before, this outfit was very easy to put together because I already had all of these items in my closet!

Obviously, Katniss has to have her signature Mockingjay pin.

Jacket- Forever 21
Shirt- Target
Jeans- Old Navy
Boots- Steve Madden
Bow- Party City (haha that was the only place I could find that had one!)

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I was for Halloween! PLEASE let me know what you were for Halloween in the comments below! (Or send photos to my twitter, CCFashionista1) I will retweet all the photos you guys send me!! I hope everyone has a great Halloween and I'll talk to you guys soon! Bye!

My Halloween Nail Art!

Hi everyone!
I know it has been ages since I've written a new blog post. I'm very sorry and I've missed blogging. I started school and my homework load has increased dramatically since last year and I didn't realize that was going to happen. I know I promised to write one post a week, but that simply is not possible for me, so I will just write as much as I can.

Moving on from that sad note, it's almost Halloween! I'm so excited because Halloween is my second favorite time of the year! (After Christmas, of course.) Today I painted my nails for Halloween and I thought I'd show you!

This is the design I decided on. I got inspiration from Pinterest as mixed a whole bunch of different ideas into one. I'm very happy with how they turned out, even though it took a lot longer than I thought.

List of polishes used (from left to right): Revlon's Alluring Amber, OPI's Gargantuan Green Grape, Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Lacey Lilac, Ulta's Snow White, Kiss Nail Art's Black & White, LA Girls' Black & White.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the Halloween nail art I created! If you recreate this look or paint any Halloween design, send them to my Twitter (CCFashionista1). I would love to see them! Also, in the comments below, let me know what you're being for Halloween! I'm so excited to wear my costume this week and I might show you guys what it is! Have a great week and if I don't talk to you before, Happy Halloween! Bye! xx

OOTW: First Week of School!

Hello everyone!
So this past week was my first week of school and it was absolutely CRAZY! I'm at a new school and my classes are so spread out, I have to run from class to class. (Did I mention I'm not a fan of running?) Anyway, I'm very thankful it's now the weekend and I'm going to show what outfits I wore this past week. Keep in mind, I only had 4 days of school this week, so that's why there are only 4 outfits! Enjoy!

Tuesday-
First day of school! For the first day I like to get dressed up, so I'm wearing one of my new favorite dresses. And to keep it more school appropriate, I paired it with white converse.
Dress- Target
Shoes- Converse

Wednesday-
I love Wednesday's outfit mainly because I love the muscle tank! I love science and last year we learned about the phases of the moon, so I had to have it in a shirt. (I'm a nerd, I'm aware) And I paired it with dark wash jeans and converse.
Tank- Brandy Melville
Jeans- Old Navy
Shoes- Converse

Thursday-
So Thursday's outfit is very casual and slouchy, but I like it because it's super comfortable. Also, you might remember an outfit similar to this in my Fall Trend Alert post.
Flannel- Forever 21
Tank- Target
Leggings- Target
Shoes- (YES, you guessed it...) Converse

 Friday (TGIF)-
So yay for Fridays, right? My cheer team agreed to dress up for the game on Friday, so that's why I am wearing a dress. (That, and I love dresses) And I paired it with a denim vest and floral keds.
Dress- H&M
Denim Vest- Pacsun
Shoes- Keds

So that's what I wore for the first week of school! I announced this on Twitter, but my fall schedule is one post a week. I would love to do more, but school is super busy right now and that's all I have time for! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know which outfit was YOUR favorite in the comments below! Have a great weekend! Bye! xx

Review: Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara

 Hello everyone!
So recently I needed I new mascara and I headed to the drugstore to pick one out. I decided to try the Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara. I am a big Rimmel fan and I've heard that this line is really good. Today I will be reviewing this mascara and letting you know what I think of it.

First off, let me tell you that I really like it. It's a great consistency and it doesn't clump. You can also apply a thin layer for a neutral looking eye or you can build it up and create a dramatic effect.

I'm not a huge fan of the packaging, as I'm not really an "orange person," but to be honest, I don't really care what the packaging looks like, as long as the product works well. And this mascara being only $5.49, it's a bargain for a mascara this good.

I really like the wand. It's HUGE, so it hits every lash with one stroke. It's very easy to apply.

Here's the mascara used on my eyes. I only applied a thin layer, as I prefer more natural looking lashes. I have really been enjoying this mascara because it doesn't flake or clump. I have really sensitive eyes, and it doesn't effect them at all, so that's a seller for me.

So to sum it up, I would highly recommend this mascara, especially if you have sensitive eyes like I do. But even if you don't, this is a great drugstore mascara to try! I hope you all enjoyed this post and let me know if YOU have tried this mascara and what you think of it! Have a great day everyone! Bye! xx

Fall Trend Alert: Flannels!

Fall.
I love everything about it.
Pumpkin patches, the leaves changing colors, school starting...
well, maybe not that.

However, Fall is my favorite season and I'm so excited for it to be starting soon! Today I'm going to show you one of the biggest upcoming fall trends this years: flannels!

The first way to style a flannel is to simply roll up the sleeves and where it with a tank and jeans. It's such a simple outfit, but it also looks cute.

Flannels look great layered over printed tanks and they also provide warmth for when it gets cooler.

Plain Converse keep the outfit laid back.

This is another one of my favorite ways to style flannels. Simply tie it in a knot around your waist, and you instantly create an edgy, but effortless-looking outfit.

Tying it around your waist is also a good way to go if it's still warm where you live and not quite cool enough for long sleeves yet.

Flannel- Forever 21
Tank- Forever 21
Jeans- Marshalls
Converse- Journeys

That's it for my first 2013 Fall Trend Alert! Let me know what YOU think of this fall trend in the comments below! I hope you have a great day! Bye! xx
