Cami's Christmas Countdown #3: A Beginner's Guide to Makeup.

Hi everyone!
So on today's post of Cami's Christmas Countdown, I set up a list of tips and tricks for makeup beginners. Although this post isn't really Christmas related, I figured this post was a necessity to make so that some of you don't make the mistakes I did when I first started out. (Helloooo blue eyeshadow)

Tip #1: Stick to Neutrals
When first starting out with makeup, you can feel overwhelmed with all the color options. As fun as the blue or purple eyeshadow may seem, I recommend you don't wear them. Colored eyeshadow a are really hard to work with, especially for a beginner.

Tip #2: DON'T fill in your eyebrows
I really wish someone would've warned me about this one. I'm guessing that if you're a makeup beginner, then you're probably fairly young so your eyebrows probably don't need much filling in. Filling in your eyebrows can be tricky because they can get too dark very quickly. (I have my 8th grade yearbook photos to prove it) So I'd recommend just not filling them in at all.

Tip #3: Don't use foundation when you don't need it
Again with what I said with the last tip: if you're young you probably don't need foundation. Do not apply it if you don't need it because it will look unnatural and cakey. If you feel as though you do need foundation, have your parents help you get the right color for you so that you don't end up with orange streaks on your face...just like I did.

How To Apply Foundation: Brush, Sponge, or Fingers

Tip #4: Listen to other's recommendations
This is a tip I still follow even though I'm not necessarily a makeup beginner anymore. When you're first starting out (or if you're a pro) listen to what others have to say about products so that they can lead you in the right direction. By following this tip, you can discover amazing products and keep yourself from wasting your money on disappointing ones. Whether it be recommendations from YouTube videos or a friend, listen to what they have to say because it can really help you out.

That's all for my makeup beginner's tips! I hope you all learned something from this (and learned from my mistakes) Thanks for reading! And happy holidays!
